Health Funding Policy & Planning
As one of the first team members on the Hospital Annual Planning Submissions & Hospital Accountability Agreements project, I provided operational policy development and advice and to support the mandate to increase accountability in Ontario’s hospitals (annual budget of $13.5 billion). During this project, I developed framework for submission analysis, educational materials, participated in negotiations to execute accountability agreements. From education sessions for healthcare providers to briefing key decision makers, I was able to develop, refine, implement and evaluate all aspects of funding policy & planning during this project.
Physiotherapy
I started my career at the bedside where I evaluated, diagnosed and treated patients in hospital, rehabilitation and community physiotherapy settings. My undergraduate program enabled me to experience healthcare systems around the world, by allowing me to complete internships across Canada, the US and Europe. At a private francophone physiotherapy clinic, I was exposed to workplace quality improvement initiatives and strategic planning, and decided to pursue further education in administration through the Masters of Health Administration program at the University of Ottawa.
